I saw Eddie and Hotrods in 77 or 78 can’t remember but Squeeze and Radio Stars were supporting them I remember Paul was playing two Ricky basses the one he’s playing here and a blue one and he got a bit pissed off when he leapt in the air came down and pulled the jack out of the socket anyway he threw it on the floor and then it went out of tune so it got thrown again anyway good gig though .

I discovered punk in 1984 and the Young Ones a couple of years later. I finally saw the Damned live along with the Dictators in Norwalk, CT the night before last. They still got it, and they're not letting age pry it out of them.

I remember watching this as a kid. Watching Rat Scabies flailing about, a fucking blur behind his drum kit, I knew what I wanted to do with the rest of my life. Watching Captain Sensible go from bass to keyboard blew my mind, and even though this video cut out the keyboard solo with the Cptn's voice-over, the image of him playing it, bending over the keyboard, is proper etched into my mind. Like The Talons of Weng Chiang, or The Children of The Stones, or those creepy public information films they used to show to scare the shit out of kids in the seventies. See you at Nottingham in November..... 🍄

I've yet to pop over to see you play as I'm sure you've met my sister viv & cuzon Marie. I've been fighting for my country last 4 year's which is more important at this time especially as I took an oath to protect & serve always .
